Good evening. I feel like my brain is going to melt. And it’s only Monday. Kill me. This is really appropriate in regards to my next post. I did a certification class over the summer to add more skills to my resume that can be used by a company. I thought it would be easy since it’s online. It was one of the most dull experiences of my life. However, the knowledge that I learned from that class helps me with my actual school work and gave me better insight into how businesses work. Without further ado, here’s the next chapter in my internship chronicles:

Well, today was my first day of NetSuite Essentials. Remember in “Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark”, when the Nazis open the Ark of the Covenant and their faces melt? That’s how my brain feels. It’s like being in school except there are about 2 mini breaks and one lunch break. To be honest, I was just trying so stay afloat. It’s going to be a long week.

Thank God I’m finished with this training! It was the most tedious thing I’ve ever been a part of. It even made school seem briefly appealing. However, in all seriousness, this class helped me learn what it took to run a business, and to be honest, it’s actually harder to run than people think. One guy in my class had a basic t-shirt business, yet his questions were complex accounting questions that you needed an accounting degree just to understand what he was saying. It gave me insight into what CEOs were thinking when they ran their own businesses. It’s a lot. However, my teacher was wonderful and patient. And she let us out early. Bam!
