Good morning. It’s been a while since I’v written any new material. Unfortunately, another semester of college has begun and as a result, my time/creativity is at an all time low. In the spirit of the new year, I have dedicated myself to trying to write more about what is truly inside my mind. That being said, I believe it is time for more people to start taking control of their destiny. I don’t mean that in the Disney sense where you happen to get lucky and stumble upon an opportunity. I mean taking control by simply working diligently towards a goal that you have. Too often, people see hard work as the montage on inspirational movies. I actually call that “montage syndrome”. What that means is that people see hard work in an unrealistic sense. In movies, when the main character works hard, he/she can be seen toiling for approximately 5 minutes in various locales while inspirational music plays. For many people, they feel like that is reality, that hard work is accomplished in short spurts. However, what many fail to realize is that in films, these montages are meant to summarize the main character’s weeks/months/years of hard work. This is not meant to be preachy, but to instead open up a new perspective on life. Nothing is handed out. Everyone knows that, but what are you going to do to get what you want? One way or another, you have to make it happen.
